La hausse des cas allant crescendo, depuis mai dernier, le Sénégal bat continuellement ses propres records de contaminations. De 402 en février dernier, celui-ci est passé à 477, vendredi dernier, puis à 733 hier mercredi, 14 juillet. La tendance toujours à la hausse, le bilan de ce jeudi, 15 juillet, est de 674 nouveaux cas. Pire, six nouvelles victimes ont hissé le bilan macabre à 1209 morts depuis mars 2020. Les jeunes, parmi les cas graves, ne sont plus épargnés par la maladie.
Au-delà du respect des gestes barrières, dont le port du masque et le lavage des mains, éviter les rassemblements est le maitre-mot. Dans ce sillage, chaque entreprise est invitée à instaurer le télétravail, afin de réduire la contamination.
En prélude de la célébration de la Tabaski, entre mardi, 20, et mercredi, 21 juillet, les Sénégalais sont invités à rester chez eux, et d’éviter les déplacements le jour de la fête.
Concernant la vaccination, la tutelle a annoncé, que d’ici fin juillet 2021, 500 000 nouvelles doses de vaccins sont réceptionnées, par le Sénégal.
