Le chef de l’Etat Macky Sall a demandé mercredi au ministre de la Santé et de l’Action sociale d’assurer une « mise à disposition systématique » de vaccins contre le Covid-19, face à l’augmentation des nouvelles infections « ces dernières semaines ».
« Face à l’augmentation du nombre de cas de Covid-19, ces dernières semaines, au relâchement constaté sur le respect des mesures barrières et du port de masque, le président de la République demande au ministre de la Santé et de l’Action sociale, d’intensifier la sensibilisation des populations, de même que le déploiement de la campagne vaccinale, en assurant la mise à disposition systématique des vaccins aux cibles concernées », rapporte le communiqué du Conseil des ministres.
Le ministère de la Santé et de l’Action sociale a fait état mercredi de 118 nouvelles infections au nouveau coronavirus au cours des dernières 24 heures, un niveau jamais atteint depuis plusieurs semaines.
Le nombre d’infections atteignait rarement les 50 cas quotidiens depuis mai-juin, ce qui laissait espérer un reflux des contaminations, en même temps que les gestes barrières étaient de moins en moins respectés.
Concernant la campagne de vaccination entamée fin février dernier, le ministère de la Santé annonce que 498.092 personnes ont reçu à ce jour une dose de vaccin.
