Démographie : La Population Sénégalaise A Atteint 17,2 Millions D’Habitants En 2021 (ANSD)

L’Agence nationale de la statistique et de la démographie (ANSD) a publié son rapport pour présenter la structure de la population du Sénégal. L’ANSD, qui a publié les chiffres de son rapport 2020, a également publié une projection pour l’année 2021 sur le nombre d’habitants au Sénégal.

D’après l’agence, la population de l’année 2020 s’élève à 16 705 608 habitants, soit une hausse de l’ordre de 3% comparé à l’année 2019. Le nombre de femmes (8 391 358, soit 50,2%) est légèrement supérieur à celui des hommes (8 314 250, soit 49,8%). D’après les projections de l’ANSD sur son site officiel, le nombre d’habitants au Sénégal en cette année 2021 sera de 17 215 433 (8 649 066 femmes et 8 566 367 hommes).

Au regard de la structure par âge, la population sénégalaise en 2020, comme les années précédentes, est caractérisée par sa jeunesse. La moyenne d’âge est de l’ordre de 19 ans, rapporte pour sa part Libération online.

D’un point de vue géographique, la population est inégalement répartie sur le territoire national, avec 54,82% de Sénégalais qui résident en milieu rural. La région de Dakar, pour sa part, concentre à elle seule 23% de la population totale du pays selon ce rapport de 2020, soit un peu moins d’un quart de la population.

Les régions les moins peuplées sont Kédougou (1,1% de la population), Sédhiou (3,4%), Ziguinchor (4,1%), Kaffrine (4,4%) et Matam (4,4%)
