La quatrième édition des Prix E-jicom de Journalisme aura lieu le 22 décembre 2021, a annoncé la direction de lEcole Supérieure de Journalisme des Métiers de lInternet et de la Communication (E-jicom).
Cette édition est, pour les initiateurs, celle de la consolidation de cet évènement phare du paysage médiatique sénégalais, après trois éditions réussies.
Les Prix E-jicom de Journalisme, lancés il y a quatre ans, sont devenus une occasion unique de célébrer le meilleur de ce quoffre le journalisme sénégalais. Ceci explique pourquoi l’Open Society Initiative for West Africa (Osiwa), Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF), lAmbassade de Grande Bretagne, la Fondation Hirondelle, lONG Energy 4 Impact et le Projet dAppui à la Stratégie Nationale pour lEquité et lEgalité de Genre, phase 2 (Pasneeg2), ont tous décidé de sassocier à lE-jicom pour cette année.
La présence de ces partenaires permet dattribuer des prix spéciaux et de motiver les journalistes à produire davantage darticles de qualité sur divers sujets. « Osiwa est heureuse de sassocier pour la seconde année consécutive aux Prix E-jicom de Journalisme et de parrainer la catégorie sur le droit des femmes. Lactualité politique et sociale de notre pays montre quil y a encore du chemin à faire dans ce domaine. Les journalistes y ont un grand rôle à jouer », a affirmé Hawa Ba, directrice Pays pour le Sénégal à Osiwa.
Pour la troisième fois consécutive Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF) parraine la catégorie Liberté de la presse. « Cette année encore, RSF s’associe à son partenaire l’E-jicom pour le Prix spécial « liberté de la presse » et témoigne de son soutien à l’essor d’un journalisme professionnel et de qualité au Sénégal. Ce prix vise à mettre à l’honneur ceux qui incarnent les idéaux de la profession », a dit Arnaud Froger, Responsable du bureau Afrique de RSF.
La représentation diplomatique de la Grande Bretagne au Sénégal a décidé de soutenir un prix spécial « Accès à linformation ». « L’ambassade de Grande Bretagne est honorée de parrainer ce prix spécial. La liberté de presse et l’accès équitable à l’information constituent un défi mondial au XXIe siècle et une priorité mondiale pour le Royaume-Uni. La capacité des journalistes à rendre compte librement des questions d’intérêt public est cruciale pour la démocratie », a déclaré Son Excellence Victoria Billing Ambassadrice de la Grande-Bretagne au Sénégal.
Le prix « Spécial Covid », parrainé par la Fondation Hirondelle, sera lopportunité pour les journalistes de mettre en avant leur production durant cette année, marquée par cette terrible pandémie. « Nous savons tous que la pandémie de Covid 19 a fortement impacté le travail des journalistes. C’est la raison pour laquelle la Fondation Hirondelle est heureuse dêtre aux côtés de lE-jicom à travers ce prix spécial afin de récompenser la meilleure parmi les productions permettant de savoir comment les journalistes ont traité cette information », a dit Jacqueline Dalton, Chargée de programmes à la Fondation Hirondelle.
Le « Prix Spécial Pasneeg », exclusivement destiné aux journalistes femmes, est parrainé par le Projet dappui à la stratégie nationale pour léquité et légalité de genre. Il va récompenser les meilleures productions des journalistes femmes traitant avec pertinence des questions de femmes. « Nous saluons ce moment fort du journalisme sénégalais initié par l’E-jicom et voulons y faire entendre la voix des femmes. D’où notre choix de réserver une catégorie exclusivement dédiée aux femmes journalistes afin que leur travail dans les médias soit reconnu, au même titre que celui de leurs collègues hommes », a déclaré Mme Awa Nguer Fall, coordonnatrice du Pasneeg2.
Energy 4 Impact, pour sa première participation parraine un prix spécial « Energie durable ». « Ce partenariat vise à amener les acteurs des médias à contribuer à la promotion des investissements dans les énergies renouvelables à partir des retombées du gaz et du pétrole, en faveur de l’éducation, la santé et l’autonomisation économique des femmes et des filles », a tenu à souligner Abdoul Karim Dosso, Directeur Pays de Energy 4 Impact.
