Le Sénégal a reçu trois à quatre demandes de pays africains qui aimeraient jouer au stade Maître Abdoulaye Wade de Diamniadio lors de la fenêtre des éliminatoires de la Coupe d’Afrique Côte d’Ivoire 2023, a révélé, lundi, le ministre des Sports, Matar Ba.
’’Nous venons de recevoir trois à quatre demandes de pays frères qui aimeraient jouer au Sénégal au mois de juin pour la fenêtre des éliminatoires de la Coupe d’Afrique 2023’’, a-t-il dit, sans dévoiler le nom de ces pays.
Le ministre des Sports s’exprimait lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture d’une session de formation au profit d’entraîneurs en provenance de pays francophones.
La Fédération gambienne de football (GFF) a écrit à son homologue du Sénégal pour pouvoir délocaliser les matchs éliminatoires de la CAN 2023 de sa sélection A prévus au mois de juin, a annoncé à l’APS, son président Lamin Kabba Bajo.Inauguré en février à Diamniadio, une nouvelle ville située à une trentaine de kilomètres de Dakar, la capitale sénégalaise, le stade Me Abdoulaye Wade est une infrastructure sportive ultramoderne.
D’une capacité de 50 mille places, le stade a accueilli en mars le match Sénégal-Egypte lors des barrages des éliminatoires de la Coupe du Monde.
Devant son public, les Lions avaient validé leur qualification pour la Coupe du Monde Qatar 2022.
Pour Matar Ba, cela montre les « efforts et le travail » que l’Etat est en train de mener dans la construction des infrastructures sportives.
« C’est dans cette optique qu’il convient de lire et de comprendre tous les efforts consentis, au plan politique et budgétaire, en particulier au cours des trois dernières années’’, a-t-il souligné.
Le ministre des Sports a salué la construction d’infrastructures sportives de troisième génération visibles à travers le pays, citant l’Arène nationale de lutte, le complexe Dakar Aréna et Stade Maitre Abdoulaye Wade de Diamniadio.
Il a aussi évoqué le programme d’assistance technique à l’entretien des huit stades régionaux lancé la semaine dernière.
De même, Matar Ba a annoncé le démarrage effectif, ’’très prochainement », des travaux de reconstruction et de réhabilitation des stades Léopold Senghor, Iba Mar Diop, Lamine Guèye de Kaolack, Elimanel Fall de Diourbel, Aline Sitoë Diatta de Ziguinchor et la Piscine Olympique de Dakar.
