Au total, 46 277 ménages de la région de Thiès, dont 18 746 dans le département de Mbour (ouest) bénéficieront des transferts monétaires de l’ordre de 3, 7 milliards de francs à l’initiative du président Macky Sall, a indiqué lundi, le ministre en charge du Développement communautaire, de l’Équité sociale et territoriale
‘’Pour la région de Thiès, 46 277 ménages sont concernés tandis qu’à Mbour département, 18 746 ménages vont recevoir dans les jours qui suivent un transfert monétaire. Soit un montant total de 3 702 160 francs CFA pour la région de Thiès et 1 499 680 000 francs CFA pour le département de Mbour’’, a assuré Samba Ndiobène Kâ.
Il procédait au lancement officiel des opérations de transferts monétaires exceptionnels pour les ménages inscrits sur le Régistre national unifié (RNU). Une activité organisée au stade municipal de Mbour.
‘’La lutte contre les inégalités sociales a été et reste au cœur des priorités du président Macky Sall. Depuis son accession au pouvoir, il a érigé au rang de priorité la mobilisation de la solidarité nationale pour lutter contre la pauvreté et améliorer les conditions de vie des populations par un meilleur accès aux services sociaux de base’’, a souligné le ministre.
Il a entre autres cité la mise en place d’un système national de protection sociale avec pour objectif de rétablir l’équité sociale et territoriale.
‘’Grâce aux efforts conjugués du gouvernement, des populations et des partenaires, le taux de pauvreté recule dans notre pays, tel que démontré par les résultats d’une enquête harmonisée sur les conditions de vie des ménages (EHCVM) financée par la Banque mondiale et selon lesquels, le taux de pauvreté s’est établi à 37,8 % contre 42,8 % en 2011, soit une baisse de 05 points de pourcentage’’, a fait valoir M. Kâ.
Selon lui, le gouvernement du Sénégal a consenti beaucoup d’efforts à travers les projets et programmes développés pour lutter contre la pauvreté et renforcer la résilience des ménages pauvres face aux chocs.
Il a insisté sur le fait que depuis 2013, plus de 316 000 bénéficiaires répartis sur tout le territoire réçoivent chaque année une bourse trimestrielle de 25 000 francs, en plus d’un accompagnement dans les domaines de la santé, de l’éducation et de l’état-civil
‘’Pour renforcer la résilience des ménages suite à la pandémie de Covid-19, mon département avait mobilisé 69 milliards de francs CFA pour l’achat de 146 000 tonnes de denrées alimentaires, distribuées aux ménages vulnérables dans le cadre de l’aide alimentaire d’urgence’’, a-t-il rappelé.
