Le Conseil d’administration du Fonds monétaire international (Fmi) se réunit, ce vendredi, sur l’affaire de la dette dite cachée au Sénégal. Mais, selon Reuters, l’institution de Bretton Woods ne va pas voter pour une dérogation cruciale pour le Séonégal, ce jour. La question sera tout de même débattue au cours de la rencontre selon l’agence qui évoque des sources proches du dossier.
Selon toujours Reuters, le Sénégal qui attendait cette dérogation depuis mai pour lui permettre d’accéder à de nouveaux fonds du FMI, «n’a pas encore rempli certains critères nécessaires à un vote formel du conseil d’administration». Mais, les discussions concernant une dérogation progressent, rapporte l’agence. Elle pourrait être accordée cette année, mais une réunion officielle du conseil d’administration est nécessaire pour l’approuver, et elle n’a toujours pas été programmée.
Le média ajoute qu’un porte-parole du Fmi a expliqué que la réunion de ce vendredi avait pour but de mettre à jour les administrateurs sur la situation du Sénégal et sur les prochaines étapes de l’engagement, y compris le lancement imminent de discussions sur un nouveau programme soutenu par le Fonds.
